By comparing planned (standard) events to actual events, variances can be identified. This variance reporting delineates inefficiencies and cost overruns in a timely manner, which allows corrective action to occur rapidly. The system provides management control over the material, capacity, costs, and productivity functions that are critical to any manufacturing operation. Product SummaryThe CMS Shop Floor Control module allows you to perform all information management functions related to the production environment. Included are capacity management, job release, material issuance, reporting workcenter movement, reporting completion of production and reconciliation of costs. The Shop Floor Control module is integrated with Production Planning, Workcenter and Routing functions, Sales Order/Demand Management, Bills of Material, Purchasing, Production Costing, G/L, and Inventory. When a demand is planned, CMS creates work order advices for items required to be produced. The Shop Floor Control module allows automatic pick list generation and time-phased picking of components during the kitting process, supporting on-line just-in-time inventory allocation if desired. Non-stocked parts received through CMS purchasing and receiving functions and outside processing costs can be posted to open Shop Floor jobs. The CMS Data Automation (CDA) system provides real-time information from data automation terminals on your shop floor. The system maintains the materials ledger by lot (if desired) and provides for the reporting of partial or full completion of production, the reporting of workcenter movement, the capture of workcenter costs, the transfer of costs, the transfer of parts job-to-job, optional kitting of material to jobs or automated backflushing, the creation of pick lists and the direct management of value-added costs. The Shop Floor Control module is fully integrated with the General Ledger, Production Planning, Workcenters & Routings, Inventory Management, Purchasing, and the Bill of Materials modules.
